Surendra Pal Singh Bhogal

"Surendra Pal Singh Bhogal (born 1949) is a self-taught artist with over two decades of experience as an illustrator for prestigious organizations such as The Sahitya Akademi and The Children's Book Trust. His work often captures everyday scenes, where stylized figures of men and women, along with birds, bring nature to life on his canvases. This distinct style reflects his inspiration from both modern and traditional Indian life, with a particular focus on the human element in different situations. Bhogal’s art is recognized for its intriguing blend of colors, where his palette, though subdued, remains vibrant and expressive. His oils on canvas showcase a harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity, making his work relatable and evocative. A self-taught artist with a background in B.A. and L.L.B., Bhogal’s creative journey extends beyond fine art into the world of illustration. His work has been featured in international platforms, including the International Children’s Book Fair in Bologna, Italy. His participation in exhibitions such as Reflections, Illumination at Art Zest, Dubai (2011) and the India-Russia Contemporary Art Exhibition in Delhi (2008) speaks to his versatility and commitment to artistic exploration."
